All wrap colors are a lot darker than they may appear on your monitor. In this first set of blade designs you'll notice that the blades are a little wider than most (blade edge to Mune). That is to create a shallower angle from the blade edge to the Shinogi. All the blades have a full one inch Sori, plus you'll also find on all blades with a Bohi, the trailing edge of the Bohi is exactly 1mm narrower than the leading edge. Now we can't say from experience (yet) that these innovations make a better cutter, but according the the laws of physics and fluid dynamics, they create less drag as the blade passes through a substance. Check it out, Last Legend has. All blade tangs are signed, denoting the blade type and year of manufacture. Bear • 8192 Layered dual steel forged folded blade • Differentially clay tempered • blade lengths are 28" or 30" • Standard 12" handle with black silk tsuka-ito and white samé • The tsuba is engraved with a standing bear as is the hand engraving on the saya • The Bear blade geometry differs from the Dragon in that the blade is 1 mm thicker and 2 mm wider with a 55 mm tip and available with or without Bohi. The shinogi-ji is narrower than the Dragon's, and on the model with the bohi, the bohi starts 3 inch's down from the habaki and ends 3 inch's before the yokote (tip line). It will weigh in at about 1350 grams with a balance point at 138 mm. The Bear blade geometry will also be utilized on various 300 and 200 series models. See the Pricelist
